2000 Dodge Stratus Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Oil Pan on 2000 Dodge Stratus?
A: Begin oil pan service by draining the oil, then take off the front engine mount and the bending strut from the powertrain. After that, remove the connection between the structural collar, as it leads to the oil pan and then remove the transaxle's lower dust cover. If your vehicle is air conditioned, remove the oil filter and adapter as well as the oil pan when you remove the pan. Clean the oil pan and the surfaces where the gaskets go completely. When the installation starts, initially fill the oil pump to engine block gap with Mopar Engine RTV GEN II or a similar sealant and then put a new gasket in the oil pan. First, put the pan and tighten the screws to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.), next come the oil filter and adapter, the transaxle lower dust cover and the powertrain bending strut. Use the proper torque required by the instructions for the center structural collar when installation the front engine mount and bracket. Install the structural collar by beginning with 3 Nm (30 in. lbs. torque on the oil pan bolts), next tighten the collar to transaxle bolts to 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.) and finally torque it to oil pan bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). The last step is to pour in the correct amount of oil into the engine's crankcase.
