2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Coolant Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To service the ECT Sensor, drain the cooling system partially so you don't get hurt by the hot and pressurized fluid. After that, take out the electrical connector from the ECT sensor and remove the sensor from the thermostat box. Reinstall the sensor, turn it by hand until it is snug and tighten it to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs). Next, plug the electrical wire back into the sensor and top off the engine coolant if you've lost any.
