2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Keep in mind that the MAP sensor is located by the throttle body and is connected through a short rubber link. Before removing the MAP sensor, take off the air cleaner duct and air resonator box at the end of the intake manifold. Then, unscrew the two bolts found at the MAP sensor's mount and, as you do that, detach the rubber L-shaped fitting by sliding it off both the throttle body and the sensor. When placing the part, connect the rubber L-shaped fitting to the MAP sensor, place the sensor against the throttle body and slide the rubber over the nipple and tighten the bolts to 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.). Lastly, put in place the air cleaner duct and air box.
