2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Coolant Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Coolant Temperature Sensor on a 4.0L Engine on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To take care of the ECT Sensor, first reduce the coolant pressure by opening the petcock partially to avoid burns. After that, unplug the electrical connector from the ECT sensor and take out the sensor from inside the thermostat housing. While installing, set the sensor in place and tighten it to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Then, put the electrical connection back on the sensor and pour in your engine coolant if any was lost.
