2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: The MAP sensor attaches to the side wall of the throttle body and connects with the help of an L-shaped rubber fitting. Before you remove the sensor, you need to first take off the air cleaner duct and air resonator box at the throttle body. Following that, remove the bolt connections for the MAP sensor mount. To take out the MAP sensor, slide the rubber L-shaped fitting off the throttle body and then take the MAP sensor out. Before installation, attach the rubber L-shaped fitting to the MAP sensor, place the sensor over the throttle body, follow the fitting over the nipple and attach the mounting bolts after tightening them to 3 Nm (25 in. Lbs.). Install the air cleaner duct and air box as the last step.
