2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Wiper Blade Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace Wiper Blades on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Lift the wiper arm and blade up off the windshield glass until you can see the wiper arm hinge over-center. Push down on the small silver tab on the plastic wiper pivot block which is on the bottom and toward the end of the wiper arm. Start by lowering the wiper blade to the lowest point on the wiper arm where it attaches to the bottom. Then, at the lower end of the wiper blade, push it away from the underside of the wiper arm, so that the top of the plastic pivot block clears the top hook and comes free from the arm. Send the rubber rear wiper arm park ramp back in place in the holder and take the wiper arm and blade away from the bottom of the liftgate until the wiper arm hinge is over the top. Some more steps: push down the latch release tab on the plastic wiper blade pivot block, move the wiper blade away from the front of the car towards the motor, press the bottom of the blade out from under the wiper arm as the pivot block goes past the hook and release the wiper blade. For installation, place the wiper blade beneath the wiper arm so the notched retainer is pointing toward the wiper's pivot place on the arm. Twist the wiper blade pivot block into the hook part at the wiper arm's end, press the blade up so it clicks securely into place and carefully lower the arm onto the windshield. To mount the rear wiper, slide the wiper blade under the wiper arm, with the wiper notch facing the motor output shaft, slide the pivot block on the wiper arm until it finds the special hook, lift up on the wiper until it snaps in place and carefully maneuver the arm further onto the liftgate rear wiper arm ramp.
