- Q: How is the Battery Sensor Positioned, Removed, and Installed on 2001 Dodge Durango?A: This sensor sits below the vehicle battery and is fixed to a hole in the battery tray. Before anything else, uninstall the battery according to correct instructions. After that, pull out the sensor harness from the connector on your engine that is clipped to the vehicle close to the wiring connector. Lift the sensor straight up from where it rests on the battery mount holes. Push the pigtail harness through the hole in the battery tray and stick the sensor into the top of the battery tray for installation. After that, slot in the pigtail harness and fit in your battery as described in the manual.
