2001 Dodge Durango Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: Remove the air duct near the throttle body first, then unplug the three electrical plugs on the MAP sensor, IAC motor and TPS. After that, take off the vacuum line from the throttle body and remove every control cable attached to the throttle body lever arm. After that, unbolt the four throttle mounting bolts and unfasten the throttle body from the intake manifold, removing and tossing out the old throttle-to-intake manifold gasket. First, make sure the throttle body and the intake manifold are clean, add a new gasket and join the two. Attach the unit to the car with the four bolts and tighten them so the bolt proceeds a quarter of a turn when tightened with 23 Nm (200 In.-lb.) torque. Reinstall each cable, the vacuum line, each wire connector and then the air duct at the throttle body. The set screw in the factory which is used for many adjustments, should not be used for changing the engine idle speed, as it remains under the control of the PCM.
