2001 Dodge Neon Engine Mount Torque Strut Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service an Engine Mount Torque Strut on 2001 Dodge Neon?
A: You should begin the servicing of the engine mount torque strut by first removing the upper engine mount torque strut which is held in place by bolts connecting it to the shock tower bracket and the engine mount bracket. To change the lower engine mount torque strut, first lift the vehicle on a hoist, take off the right side splash shield, loosen the bolts connecting the lower strut to the crossmember and strut bracket and then remove the lower engine mount torque strut. To install, put the upper engine mount torque strut in the right locations, attach the mounting bolts and adjust it as indicated in the manual. After that, fit the lower engine mount torque strut into its designated locations, attach the mounting bolts and finish the engine mount torque strut adjustment. After that, put the splash shield back in place and drive the vehicle down.
