2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Van Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service and repair the front engine mount on 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?
A: Lift the hood and set up the fan to make sure that your hand will clear the top radiator tank and hose. Disconnect the negative battery cable and ensure you don't raise the engine by pulling the intake manifold. Place the engine lifting fixture on the chassis and hoist the car with a lift. Pull the nuts out of each bracket and insulator and then lift the engine with the support fixture high enough to slide out the insulators. When the engine mounting bracket was not there, insert it onto the cylinder block to its correct location and tighten all bolts to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.) torque. After raising the engine slightly, put in the insulators, then lower it back with the support while you guide the insulator studs into the holes in the crossmember and brackets. Apply torque of 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) to all attaching nuts, lower the car and at last take out the engine support fixture.
