To service the camshaft, remove the timing chains and bearing caps and then extract the camshafts and examine them for damage. Replace if needed, being sure to align correctly on reinstallation. Compress and lock the tensioner, install the tensioner, and tighten all parts to specified torque and measure camshaft end play, install primary timing chain.
