2001 Dodge Stratus Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Evaporator on 2001 Dodge Stratus?
A: Before servicing or repairing the evaporator core, first turn off the negative battery cable. Disconnect the house from the HVAC and take out the wiring harness on top of the housing thereafter to remove the connector from the recirculation motor. After that, remove both seals from the evaporator coil and then remove the top housing screw. Open the assembly from the top and lower sides and take out the evaporator temperature sensor. With the bottom housing empty, lift the evaporator out of it and pull out the styrofoam seal. Start by mounting the evaporator coil into the housing below and add the evaporator temperature sensor. Put the top housing over the bottom housing and screw them into place, attach the recirculation motor connector next and finally install the evaporator seal. Next, place the HVAC harness in the upper housing and put the HVAC housing back into the vehicle.
