How to Maintain and Fix a Door Handle Actuator on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?

You have to take out the door trim panel first when working with the rear door interior handle actuator. Next, cut the thin tabs holding the inner door handle to the door trim with an X-ACTO knife or its equivalent and pull the handle away from the trim. During installation, first put the inside handle in the trim panel, then heat stake the inside handle to the panel and finally use the trim to finish off the installation.
