How to Maintain and Fix Axle Shafts on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

In order to service the axle shafts, lift the vehicle and dismount the wheel, brake caliper and rotor. Pull out the axle shaft with Slide Hammer 7420. To install, position axle with retainer plate upside down, tighten the nuts, reattach parts, and verify differential lubricant, and then, position the vehicle down.
