2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Coil Springs Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Coil Springs in the Rear on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Raise the car, put a hydraulic jack under the axle and support it securely before you work on the rear coil spring. Unfasten the motorcycle's wheel and tire assemblies, next, unbolt the stabilizer bar link from the stabilizer bar and remove the shock absorber bolt from the axle bracket. Hydraulic jack down to prepare the axle for turning and to check the condition of both upper and lower spring isolators. The first step in installing is to fit the upper isolator, after that, install the lower isolator so its nub fits snugly into the axle pad hole. Lift down on the axle and put the coil spring into the lower isolator, so the coil on the other side is flush against the isolator spring locator. Heave up the axle on the jack, put on the shock absorber over the axle bracket and secure it to the guideline. Attach the stabilizer bar link to the bar, fit the wheels and tires back in, take out the support legs and bring down the vehicle. Next, tighten the stabilizer bar links up to the required setting.
