To adjust the lifter/lash adjuster, take out the engine cylinder head and push rods. Remover: Take off tappets, wash and examine them. Determine leak-down rate of each tappet. Install cleaned tappingets with oil, reassemble, and make sure there is correct torque. Lastly, put on cylinder head cover.
