2001 Jeep Wrangler Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before repairing or servicing the throttle body, take the air cleaner tube off the throttle body. Take out the electrical cables linked to the throttle body from the MAP sensor, IAC motor and TPS. Eliminate the control cables from the throttle body lever arm and unscrew the four bolts attaching the throttle body to the intake manifold, throwing away the old gasket between the two pieces. During installation, brush both surfaces that come together and add a new throttle body-to-intake manifold gasket. Join the throttle body back to the intake manifold and use the four mounting bolts to secure it with a torque of 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.). Replace the control cables, electrical connectors and lastly the air cleaner into the throttle body.
