How to Effectively Service and Repair a Throttle Body on Jeep Wrangler?

At the beginning of repairing or servicing the throttle body, loosen and pull out the air cleaner tube. Unplug the electrical connections from the throttle body at the MAP sensor, IAC motor and TPS. After that, unattach the control cables from the throttle body lever arm and pull out the four bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold. Throw away your current throttle body-to-intake manifold gasket. Before installation, wipe clean the areas where the throttle body and intake manifold join and apply a new gasket. Couple the connector from the throttle body (1) to its electrical signal wire (3). Every time you rotate the throttle body, start with the mounting bolts in a cross pattern and tighten all bolts with a torque wrench to 7.5 Nm (65 in. lbs.). After that, attach the clean air hose and make sure the two clamps are tightened to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.). After that, attach the other negative battery cable and tighten its nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). To finish, scan your vehicle all over again to reprogram your car and clear every prior DTC using the ETC Relearn function.
