How to Service and Repair a Crankshaft Seal on 2002 Chrysler Concorde?

First, take out the transaxle from the vehicle and afterward remove the drive plate to service and repair the crankshaft main bearing seal. Slowly use a 3/16" wide flat bladed screwdriver to separate the seal from the metal case of the crankshaft seal by prying against it without letting the blade touch the seal. Keeping contact with the chamfer is fine. After checking for any burrs, remove scratches from the crankshaft edge and clean the area gently with 400 grit sandpaper. After that, place Guide 6926-1 over the crankshaft and check that its magnetic base is correctly positioned as a pilot tool. Set the seal above the pilot tool, so the seal's lip points to the crankshaft, while leaving the pilot tool on the crankshaft. After that, use Special Tool 6926-2 Installer and C-4171 Handle to push the seal into the retainer housing until it is even with the housing top and then put back the drive plate and transaxle.
