How to Service and Repair a Rear Brake Caliper on 2002 Chrysler Sebring?

When servicing and repairing the rear disc brake caliper, press the brake pedal down about an inch and secure it with a brake pedal depressor to keep fluid from draining out. Get the vehicle up and take out the rear wheel and the tire. Remove the bolt linking the banjo to the brake hose at the caliper and throw away both washers. After that, take out the two bolts that hold the caliper to the adapter. Turn the upper part of the caliper against the adapter and lift the caliper off the lower machined part. To install, draw the caliper piston all the way into the bore and apply Mopers Multipurpose Lubricant to both of the adapter abutments. If you have taken off the rotor, then secure it squarely into the hub. Prime the calipers flat facing the rotor so the guide pin bolts and bushings don't hit any adapter bosses. Be careful to not put the caliper guide pin bolts into the incorrect holes; the fasteners must be tightened to a torque of 22 Nm (192 inch lbs.). After putting on the donut washer on both ends of the brake hose and onto the caliper, slide a second washer onto the banjo bolt and tighten against the caliper to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). Put the wheel and tire assembly back on, use a sequence to tighten the square nuts partway, leave them for a short while and tighten them fully with the specified 135 Nm or 100 ft lb. torque. Hold the car low, release the brake pedal depressor, flush the hydraulic brake system to the caliper and drive the car to check and set the brake pads properly.
