2002 Chrysler Sebring Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: Should You Reface the Brake Disc with Every Brake Pad Replacement on 2002 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Brake rotor refacing is not required during every brake pad change, but is important if the rotor surface is severely marked, misshaped or if users report brake noise and pedal pulsation. With the use of a hub-mounted on-car brake lathe, you can align the brake rotor to fit snugly over the vehicle's hub and bearing, so it doesn't have excessive runout. Minimum allowable thickness for all rotors is given by markings on an unmachined surface and it should not be machined below this line. Before beginning installation, make sure neither the brake rotor face nor the hub adapters contain corrosion or chips. Machine the rotor on both sides using the manufacturer's recommendations and doing it at the same time to make sure there is no tapering or unevenness. During refacing, pay attention to the tolerances for indicator reading and thickness differences since rotors need to be turned carefully for best results.
