  A: To take care of the air bag Control Module, first ignore the negative cable from the battery, then allow two minutes for the system capacitor to drain. Do not disturb or kick the air bag Control Module and if you accidentally strike it or drop it, it needs to be replaced because the impact sensor inside controls air bag deployment. Loosen the screw that holds the floor duct adapter to the heater-air conditioner and remove the adapter after that. Roll the carpet back against the sides of the rear transmission tunnel to reach the air bag Control Module. Take out the two screws holding the module to the mounting bracket on the right, then take out the two screws holding it on the left. Hold the module up so the locator pins release and then move the module so you can access the connector for the wire harness. Slide the red Connector Position Assurance lock to the right, depress its tab and pull the connector out to disconnect the instrument panel wire harness.
