- Q: How to Locate, Remove, and Install a Battery Sensor on 2002 Dodge Dakota?A: Underneath the vehicle battery and attached to a hole on the battery tray is the battery temperature sensor. Remove the battery at first and afterward disconnect the sensor harness from where it is attached to the engine wire harness near the car's electrical connector. Then, carefully pull the sensor out straight upward from its mounting hole in the tray. During installation, put the pigtail harness through the hole in the battery tray and press the sensor into the top of the tray. At the last step, link the pigtail harness and put your battery back in the vehicle.
