2002 Dodge Durango Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Output Speed Sensor for a 45RFE Automatic Transmission on 2002 Dodge Durango?
A: After raising the vehicle, place a proper catch pan under the 45RFE automatic transmission before working on the sensor. Bring off the wiring, remove the bolt securing the sensor to the transmission cover and place the sensor aside for now. Remove the output speed sensor from inside the transmission case. Connect the output speed sensor to the transmission case, screw it in with the bolt and tighten it to 11.9 Nm (105 inch lbs.) Secure the wiring connector to the speed sensor, make sure the fluid is at the right level and put more fluid in if less than full. Then lower your vehicle.
