2001 Dodge Durango Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Speed Sensor on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: Before you work on the Wheel Speed Sensor on a 2WD, first lift and support the vehicle. First, take out the bolt welded between the sensor and steering knuckle and remove both clamps for the sensor wire from the control arm and inner fender panel. Go under the hood, cut the sensor's wire from the harness and remove the sensor. For installation, place the sensor in the palm and tighten the bolts on the knuckle to 21 Nm (190 inch lbs.). Lock down the clamps for the sensor wire on the control arm and fender and then link the wire to the connector in the engine bay while carefully keeping it away from hot or moving underhood parts. With the steering supports still in place, make small turns to see that nothing is blocking the wire under the steering and suspension.
