How to Service and Repair a Rack and Pinion Steering System on 2002 Dodge Stratus?

In order to service the mechanism rack pinion, disconnect the ground cable, siphon power steering fluid and lock the steering wheel. Take the four-wheel nuts off, loosen tie rod ends and indicate suspension alignment. Reduce the crossmember, rewind with a new rack and pinion and reassemble paying attention to torque and alignment. Test for leakages and align the wheels.
