• Q: How to Service a Sway Bar Link on 2002 Jeep Liberty?

  A: Before removing the sway bar link, make sure the vehicle is raised, the wheel is removed and the tire is out of the way. Then, take out the lower control arm attached to the lower sway bar link bolt and the upper sway bar link bolt to the sway bar to separate the sway bar link. Position the new sway bar link outside the vehicle, next to the sway bar. Then, slide the upper sway bar link bolt and washers into the bar, tighten it with torque to 136 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Once that's done, put the lower sway bar link bolt and its washer on the lower control arm and tighten the nut with a torque wrench to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.). Place the tire and wheel back on your vehicle.
