2002 Jeep Wrangler Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Front Wiper Arm on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before replacing the front wiper arms, raise the wiper arm until the blade touches the glass, then catch the latch plate, pull it out and let the arm come down and rest off the glass. Avoid prying or using a screwdriver near the wiper arm to keep it secure when it's being used. Move the wiper arm pivot end a bit back and forth, until it lets go from the wiper pivot. To install, first turn your ignition on, then turn the right multi-function switch control stalk to OFF. Allow the wipers to finish moving and afterwards move the ignition switch back to OFF. To correctly fit the front wipers, place the arms on the wiper pivots, with the motor still in the park position. Place the pivot ends so that the blade tip is just above the bottom edge of the windshield blackout area by +15 millimeters/- 0 millimeters (+ 0.59 inch/- 0 inch). Lift the wiper arm a bit after being done with indexing, insert the latch plate into the locked position and slowly lower the arm as it rests on the glass. Fill your windshield with water, turn on the front wipers, switch the wipers to OFF and adjust the wiper arms if needed.
