2001 Jeep Wrangler Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Front Wiper Arm on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To replace the arm of the front wiper, first raise the arm to pull out the latch plate and release it after the wiper blade is up and away from the glass. Don't pry the wiper arm with a tool to remove the blade assembly, as doing so might make the arm come away when the blades move. Once you have set the wiper to the wiper pivot, raise the wiper arm just a bit to lessen the tension on the latch plate, press the latch plate into its functioned position and gently move the wiper arm until the wiper blade is resting against the glass. Spray water on the windshield and use the front wipers, then press the wiper switch to OFF to confirm and adjust the wiper arms. Use a rocking motion to lift the wiper arm pivot end out from the wipers pivot. Before you install the wiper motor, set the park position by switching the ignition on and turning that switch to OFF. When the wiper pivots are moving, wait until they still before shifting the ignition switch to OFF. Mount the front wiper arm so that the front subarm touches the wiper pivot, placing the wiper arm pivot ends on the wiper pivots with the wiper tip located where the lower windshield and blackout area join (+15 millimeters/-0 millimeter).
