How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor for Input on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

The Transmission Speed Sensor should be serviced or repaired after you have disconnected the battery cables. Take away the air cleaner assembly, lift up the battery hold down clamp and remove the battery. After that, take out the battery tray and detach the connector of the input speed sensor. Take out and unscrew the input speed sensor, then check and fix the O-ring if it is damaged. When installing, first make sure the O-ring is in the right place, then attach and tighten the speed sensor to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) and link the connector again. First, set in the battery tray, then the battery and hold down clamp and after that the air cleaner assembly and finally restore the battery cables.
