2003 Dodge Dakota Exhaust Heat Shield Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2003 Dodge Dakota?
A: First, raise and support the vehicle to service the heat shields. Free the heat shields from the frame or floor pan by taking out the screws or nuts holding them in place. You have to remove the front muffler support bracket before you can take out the heat shield from the muffler. Pull out the shields close to the end of the exhaust system. With the heat shields positioned against the floor pan or frame, put in all the screws or nuts and make certain they are tightened correctly before you put the car back on the floor.
