2002 Dodge Dakota Exhaust Heat Shield Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2002 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before servicing or repairing the heat shield, raise and support the vehicle. Take out the nuts and screws that hold the heat shields onto the frame or floor pan. When removing the muffler heat shield, first take off the front support bracket for the muffler. Take the shields and slide them around the exhaust system. Put the heat shields down on the floor pan or frame and add the screws or nuts and loosen them just before taking the vehicle off the jack.
