How to Service and Repair the Drive Shaft on 2003 Dodge Durango?

Before starting to repair or service the rear propeller shaft, put the transmission in Neutral and lift the vehicle. Draw a line in between the axle companion flange and the propeller shaft flange yoke to follow when installing. After removing the companion flange bolts, pull the slip yoke off the output shaft to free the propeller shaft. As you install, put the slip yoke onto the shaft from the transmission or transfer case and make sure the reference mark is lined up with the flange yoke mark. Place the companion flange bolts into the holes and tighten them to 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.), before bringing the vehicle down.
