2003 Dodge Neon Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Level Sensor on 2003 Dodge Neon?
A: Before work on the fuel level sensor, first remove the fuel pump module. Push down on the retaining tab to take the fuel pump/level sensor connector out of the bottom part of the fuel pump module connector. After that, take off the blue locking wedge. With a small screwdriver, pull away the locking finger from the terminal and pull the terminal out of the connector and then push the level sensor signal and ground terminals out too. Put the wire of the level sensor through the opening in the fuel pump module and lift the sensor out of the installation channel. When installing, push the sensor wires into the bottom part of the module and wrap the wires into the notch on the back of the sensor. As you connect the sensor to the PVC pipe, push the electronic sensor all the way into the guide groove and listen for the signal from the sensor to confirm it snaps into position. Place the locking wedge on the connector, push up on the connector until it goes into the bottom of the fuel pump module electrical connector and carefully reinstall the fuel pump module.
