Before you work on or repair the wiper arm, ensure you put it in PARK, close the door and turn off the ignition. Gently lift the arm cap away from the case by inserting a trim stick (special tool C-4755) or an alternative tool under it. Take some pliers and remove the retaining nut holding the wiper arm to the pivot. Then, use a small rocking movement to take the arm off when it is positioned over or in the center. Take care to remove all metal fragments from the pivot shafts. For the wiper to be installed through the module, park the motor, make adjustments as needed and lay the heel of the blade(s) across the mark that indicates the PARK position on the windshield. Clean the remaining metal debris from the pivot shafts, then fasten the arm onto the pivot while using a rocking motion when in an over/centered state. Once you have the retaining nut secured, tight it down to 19.7 - 21.5 Nm (175 - 190 in. lbs). Install the cap for the wiper arm nut. Afterward, test the wiper blades by moving the arm to the auto position and then turn the ignition to Off.
