  A: To reach the multi-function switch, it is always better to disarm the air bag system, so as to avoid inadvertent launching of the air bag. Remove the steering wheel and upper and lower steering column shroud as well as disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. The wire connector at the back of the multi-function switch is disconnected and the screws that fasten the switch to the steering column adapter collar removed and then the multi-function switch. Then, remove screws that fasten the clock spring with the multi- function switch. To install, connect the clock spring to the multi-function switch and the switch is placed onto the steering column and fastened using the retaining screws. Plug in the wire harness connector back, replace the upper and lower steering column shrouds and the steering wheel back. Lastly, re-connect the negative battery wire.
