2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Parking Brake Cable on the Right Rear on 2003 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: First, make sure to raise and support the vehicle and afterwards lockout the parking brake cable. After the brake cables have been adjusted on both sides, lose the cable at the equalizer and adjuster nut, remove it from the front cable and remove it from the bracket and axle attachments on the right side too. After that, get the cable bracket off the shock bracket and take out the cable from the brake lever. Install the brake cable by hooking it onto the brake lever, then screw the cable bracket to the shock bracket. After that, clip the wiring cable to the axle bracket and the frame bracket and attach the right cable to both the equalizer and the front cable. Afterward, tighten up the brake cable at the equalizer using the adjuster nut.
