2003 Jeep Wrangler A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Hose on 2003 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before doing anything on the HVAC hose/line, turn the negative cable to the battery OFF and recover the refrigerant from the system. Take off the secondary clip attaching the spring-lock to the liquid line at the end of the accumulator outlet tube next to the dash panel. Carefully take off the refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator inlet tube and be sure to put a plug in or tape over every exposed refrigerant line fitting. Now, lift out the fastener and take the liquid line off the end of the condenser outlet tube, replacing the removed fittings with plugs or tape. Bend back the plastic clips on the fender shield and carefully pull the liquid line out of the vehicle. To install, remove the tape or plugs from the couplers on the condenser outlet tube and the condenser end of the liquid line and finall in the liquid line to the condenser outlet tube refrigerant line coupler, tightening the fastener to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Take off the tape or plugs at the refrigerant line fittings on both ends of the liquid line, then join the liquid line refrigerant coupler to the evaporator inlet tube. Cuff the secondary clip on the liquid line to the accumulator outlet tube near the dash panel, then place the line into the clipping points inside the fender shield that is on the inside. After that, attach the battery negative cable, evacuate any refrigerant and fill the system with refrigerant.
