2002 Jeep Wrangler A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose on 2002 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before changing the A/C liquid hose or line, disconnect the battery negative cable and then recover the refrigerant from the system. Come apart the clip that holds the secondary clip on to the spring-lock coupler at the liquid line and accumulator outlet tube near the dashboard panel and unlink the liquid line refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator inlet tube. Make sure to secure all open refrigerant line fittings with either plugs or tape. After that, take out the screw, unhook the liquid line from the condenser outlet pipe and cover the unplugged fittings with either tape or plugs. Take away the plastic clips from the right inner fender shield and take the liquid line out of your vehicle. Elsewhere, take the tape or plugs off the refrigerant line fittings at both ends of the line, connect the liquid line to the condenser outlet tube and tighten the connection with the provided fastener to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Take off the tape or plugs from both the line fittings on the evaporator end of the liquid line and the evaporator inlet tube. Then attach the liquid line refrigerant line coupler to the evaporator inlet tube. Socket the secondary clip onto the accumulator outlet tube at the dash, then secure the liquid line into the clips at the right inner fender shield. Next, connect the battery negative terminal, release all the refrigerant and fill the system again accordingly.
