2004 Chrysler Concorde Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Rocker Arm Assembly on 2004 Chrysler Concorde?
A: You should take out the cylinder head cover(s) at the beginning of rocker arm assembly service. Turn the crankshaft to ensure both the piston and valves are safe while the vehicle is being moved. Spin the engine until the cam lobe is touched to the base for the rocker arm you're taking out. Pump down on Special Tools 8215 and 8216 Adaptor enough to relax the tension on the rocker arm. After that, lift the rocker arm out of its slot in the cylinder head. Just before you disassemble the rocker arms, take note of where they originally sat so you can put them back properly. Check over the rocker arms for any signs of wear or harm and likewise check the cam follower assembly for issues, if you find them, replace the defective parts. Apply clean engine oil to the rocker arms before installing and spin the engine until you see the cam lobe touching the base rough segment where that rocker arm will be located. Again, with Special Tools 8215 and 8216 Adaptor, softly press down the valve spring so that the rocker arm goes back into its previous position over the valve and lash adjuster, after doing so release the tension on the valve spring. Place the rocker arm into the lash adjuster and valve tip and then do the same with every rocker arm before closing the cylinder head.
