2004 Chrysler Pacifica Harmonic Balancer Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Harmonic Balancer and Crankshaft Pulley on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery first, then raise the vehicle by hoist before touching the harmonic balancer or crankshaft pulley. Then, take out the right front wheel, the phrone and the accessory drive belt splash shield and lastly the accessory drive belt. After that, take out the vibration damper bolt and insert Special Tool 1023 with 9020-R to remove the crankshaft damper. Use Special Tools C-4685-C1 (5.9 inch) Bolt, the included Nut and 6792-1 Installer to handle the crankshaft damper during installation. After setting the vibration damper bolt to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.), replace the accessory drive belt, accessory drive belt splash shield and the right front wheel. After this, put down the car and attach the negative cable to the battery again.
