- Q: How to Service and Repair a Timing Cover on 2004 Chrysler Pacifica?A: Gain access to repairing the front timing cover by releasing the fuel pressure and disconnecting the cable going to the car's negative battery terminal. Raise the vehicle and take off both the accessory drive belt and its tensioner. After that, take out the bolts holding the power steering pump and place it elsewhere. Unscrew the crankshaft damper and take off the lower front timing belt cover fasteners. Drop the vehicle to the ground and use a floor jack to hold the engine up. Remove the housing cover of the air cleaner and the engine mounting and then take off the fuel supply line from the fuel rail. Unscrew the top timing belt bolts and move on to take off the front timing belt cover. During installation, you must first install the front timing belt cover, next the upper engine mount. Attach the fuel line from the fuel rail to the fuel rail and attach the air cleaner housing where it belongs. Lift the vehicle again using the floor jack and then take it out. Security the pump by fitting all bolts and tighten them to a torque of 23 Nm (200 lbs. inch). After fitting the crankshaft damper, fasten the accessory drive belt tensioner at 28 Nm (250 in lbs.). Afterwards, lift the vehicle again, reconnect the negative battery cable and tighten it as well.
