2004 Chrysler Sebring Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service an Air Bag Sensor on 2004 Chrysler Sebring?
A: The first thing to do when servicing the acceleration sensor in a satellite is to remove and separate the battery negative cable from the remote terminal and to allow two minutes for any reserve capacitors to lose power before continuing. Disconnect the lower B-pillar trim from its side in the car and unplug the satellite acceleration sensor electrical connector. Now that's done, get rid of the SAS holding screws to retrieve the sensor from the vehicle. When putting in the sensor, point the electrical connector forward, fit it between the A- and B-pillar, attach the bottom screws to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.) and add the upper screws finger tight. Place the lower B-pillar trim back and bind theconnector with the SAS wires. You should not connect the battery negative cable remote terminal until the air bag system is checked and repaired.
