How to Service an Air Bag Control Module on 2004 Chrysler Sebring?

Draw out the negative cable from your battery, then stand aside for two minutes so the system reserve capacitor can empty before looking at or working on air bag items. It is important to remove the shifter knob and boot from manual transmission vehicles and, in cars with an automatic transmission, also take off the shift indicator bezel and separate it from the ignition key. Subsequently, get rid of the four screws on the parking brake lever and the floor console as well as the three holding the Occupant Restraint Controller in place. Take out the wire harness connectors and remove the ORC. Don't forget to remove the battery, place the ORC with the arrow towards the front center console and then plug in the wire harness. Security the mounting screws to a torque of 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.), reinstall the parking brake lever and use the four included screws to fasten the floor console. Place the shift indicator bezel and knob for user-friendly models and put both the boot and the knob for manual models into position.
