2004 Chrysler Town & Country A/C Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Operate the Rear A/C Switch for Optimal Climate Control on 2004 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Be sure to remove and isolate the negative battery cable prior to handling the rear A/c-heater control. Pry gently with a wide trim stick or other suitable instrument at the top edge of the A/c-heater control bezel above the headliner to separate the snap clip retainers. Assuming you're sitting in the front seat, reach back and tug the A/c-heater lever in the rear to reveal the headliner wire harness connector at the back and disconnect it. Get rid of the A/c-heater control panel that's mounted in the headliner. Should these steps become necessary, take off the three screws holding the rear A/c-heater control and remove it from the bezel. If you removed the rear A/c-heater control, install it on the bezel and tighten the three screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Put the rear A/c-heater control just next to the headliner and connect the wire harness cable. Attach the locator tabs over the forward area of the headliner opening on the back of the rear A/c-heater control bezel and move the bezel towards you until the snap clips match up with the guides on the headliner. Push up on the rear of the A/c-heater control bezel until both snap clips are in place. Next, put the battery back into the circuit and use the Drbiii to clear the values in the Rear Calibration section. Check that the Front Control's Actuator Calibration is complete and adjust any problems. First, turn the Rear Temperature Selector around to the Cold Position for 5 seconds and then turn it further to the Hot Position for another 5 seconds. Calibration has successfully finished.
