2004 Dodge Dakota Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Injector on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before handling the fuel injector, first unhook the fuel rail from under the vehicle and release the clips holding the fuel injectors to the rail. Service to the fuel injectors must start with releasing the pressure from the fuel system, as it stays under pressure all the time. Once you release the fuel pressure, take out the fuel rail assembly to get to the injectors. It's recommended to apply a little engine oil to each fuel injector O-ring to make installation easier. Following this, put on the injectors and their clips over the fuel rail and reattach the fuel rail assembly and the air cleaner. Then, once you start the engine, make sure there are no leaks.
