2003 Dodge Dakota Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair Fuel Injectors on 2003 Dodge Dakota?
A: First, the fuel system pressure is never released and thus the fuel injectors are under constant continuous pressure even when the engine is off; you therefore need to first service and repair the fuel adjustors as they will also be under constant pressure. First remove the air cleaner assembly, then the fuel injector rail assembly. Then remove the injectors by unclipping the ones attaching to the injectors to the fuel rail. To facilitate installation into the fuel rail a small amount of clean engine oil should be applied to each fuel injector O ring for installation. Reattach fuel rail assembly after reinstalling the injectors and the corresponding clips to the fuel rail. Additionally, reinstall the air cleaner and start the engine making sure that it is free of leaks.
