2004 Dodge Dakota Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: The outer tie rod end is serviced and repaired by undoing the jam nut and the nut at the steering knuckle first. With Remover MB-991113, extract the tie rod ball stud from the knuckle and then unthread the outer end from the inner tie rod. To fit the outer tie rod end, remove it from the tyre and put it where it originally belonged on the inner tie rod, then fasten it inside the steering knuckle. Apply 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.) when tightening the ball stud nut at the steering knuckle and tighten the jam nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.). At the end, determine the pattern for the positioned wheel toe.
