2004 Dodge Durango MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Replace a MAP Sensor on 2004 Dodge Durango?
A: Located at the front of the intake manifold, the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor should be handled with care during any service or repair job. Before removing the sensor, disconnect the connector, then wipe away any dirt around the area. Following that, open the two sensor mounting screws and carefully take the MAP sensor off the intake manifold to inspect the condition of the O-ring. Before installing, look inside the hole of the intake manifold for the MAP sensor and examine the O-ring to see if it has been cut or torn. Attach the sensor to the manifold, tighten the mounting screws to 3 N.m (25 in. lbs.) and join the electrical connector back.
