2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Open the job by removing the duct for the air cleaner and the air resonator box under the throttle body. Remove the electrical links from the MAP sensor, IAC motor and TPS. Take the control cables off the lever arm and then remove the four bolts holding the throttle body. After that, unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold and throw out the old gasket between them. You should start by cleaning the surfaces that connect the throttle body and intake manifold, then install a new gasket at that interface. Reconnect the throttle body to the intake manifold and put the four bolts in place, torquing them to 11 N.m (100 in. lbs.). After that, plug back in the control cables and the electrical connectors before securing the air duct and air box to the throttle body.
